Google Analytics for iOS devices has finally arrived! Even though the app has been available for Android devices for quite some time, this is the first release for iOS devices, which means a large audience was missing out on the convenience of the app. The app is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. However, it’s optimized for the iPhone 5 and requires that the device runs on iOS 6.0 or later.

The Google Analytics app is a nice little tool to keep around because it offers many of the same features that you’re used to seeing on the computer, as well as real-time reports. This neat feature means that you can monitor data as it’s taking place. You can’t beat that. And, you can’t deny the convenience that the app allows for, as you don’t have to be at your desk to view information. Whether you’re traveling for business or taking the train in the morning, analytic information is only a few clicks away.

Here is some of the information that you can view directly from your iOS device:

  • Number of visits

  • Traffic sources

  • Page views

  • User behavior insights

  • Conversions

  • Real-time reports

Most agree that the real-time reporting is the highlight of the app, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Google’s mobile Analytics software made its appearance back in June and intended to cover the three main stages of interaction between apps and users:

  • Acquisition and User Metrics

  • Engagement

  • Outcome

Through these three stages, mobile Analytics software intended to track new and active users across devices and operating systems, track frequency, engagement flow and crash reports and show conversions and in-app purchases.

It’s exciting to see that only a short month later, iOS users now have this intuitive mobile software in full action. And, unlike other types of analytics software on the market, Google’s approach was to create a holistic app that tracks ALL relevant data in one convenient place. They have succeeded.

If you have an iOS device and use Google Analytics, download the Google Analytics app and check out the features for yourself!
